About this artwork

Swordsmen in the Sky is almost entirely luminous, with strong light-against-dark modelling — orange and red set its overall key. Saturation stays in a natural, believable range. Against a saturated wall colour the contrast is striking.

It belongs to our Frank Frazetta collection, which gathers 60 works around the same universe. If you are building a wall around that theme, it sits well next to A Princess Of Mars and Death Dealer 3.

Two ways to own it. The fine art print reproduces the image on synthetic canvas with pigment inks, holding the brush texture of the original. The hand-painted version is repainted in oil on cotton canvas by one of our senior artists, so no two copies are alike. Vertical, at 1:1.31, it fills the kind of wall that horizontal work leaves looking empty. There are 10 sizes, and in each one the number refers to the shorter side: 30 x 39 cm at the smallest, 150 x 196 cm at the largest. Rolled is available throughout the range; stretched and framed go up to 100 cm.
