About this artwork

What defines View of the Ruins is how it reads as luminous across the canvas, with readable but never harsh modelling, letting orange and emerald shape the whole image. The palette is rich but never garish. Bright work like this is best kept out of direct sunlight to protect the pigments.

Part of our Jaroslav Panuska collection, a group of 80 works built around one universe. It hangs comfortably beside Monster Brains and Baba Yaga.

This piece exists in two forms. Printed, it is pigment ink on synthetic canvas — accurate, stable, and faithful to the original texture. Painted, it is oil on cotton canvas, worked by hand, and unique by definition. A photo and video record of the completed piece reaches you ahead of the parcel.

The 1:1.66 landscape format is the easiest to place in a room with standard ceiling height. 10 formats, from 50 x 30 cm to 249 x 150 cm. Our size numbers always describe the shorter side, whatever the orientation. Rolled canvas ships at every size; stretched and framed finishes are offered up to 90 cm, beyond which the parcel exceeds what carriers accept.
