Sona Portrait with Blue Twin-Tail Hair — Print & Oil Painting

The hair draws the frame. Two high bunches send thick ropes of teal out to both edges of the canvas, and those ropes curve back inward and close beneath the chin, so the head sits inside a shape that comes very near to a heart. Nothing else in the image is asked to do any composing.

Two colours run the whole work and they are complements. Teal for the hair, pink for everything else: clusters of blossom pinned at both bunches, a lace bodice, a soft rose ground scattered with pale bokeh discs. There is no third hue anywhere except the gold of the metalwork.

That metalwork sits at the throat and rewards a close look. A pink satin choker carries embossed lettering along the band, ties into a bow with two long tails hanging down, and holds a gold treble clef whose lower curl has been closed into a heart. Nothing else in the portrait has been drawn with edges that hard.

The face is handled with the same smooth digital airbrush as the rest: a straight fringe cut level with the brows, large blue eyes each carrying a single hard white catchlight, a small red mouth. Petals drift across the field at the right, and a monogram is signed into the lower right corner.

Sona is the Maven of the Strings in League of Legends, and the clef at her throat is the only thing in the portrait that names her trade, since neither instrument nor stage appears.
