About this artwork

The Looking Glass carries an unusually high key, with clear but unforced separation of light and dark. Its dominant tones run through orange and red. The hues are dialled down rather than pushed. In a white room it reads as texture more than as image, which is a quality worth using deliberately.

Choose between a fine art print and a hand-painted oil. The print uses pigment inks on synthetic canvas; the painting is executed in oil on cotton canvas by a senior artist and takes several weeks. You approve the finished work from photographs and a video before we pack it.

This is a portrait format, 1:1.28, which works between two windows or above a chest of drawers. There are 10 sizes, and in each one the number refers to the shorter side: 30 x 38 cm at the smallest, 150 x 192 cm at the largest. Rolled is available throughout the range; stretched and framed go up to 100 cm.

The entry price is $103 for the smallest print. Tracked express delivery is included wherever you are, and you have 15 days to change your mind.
