About this artwork

The palette of The Mountain Ford keeps an unforced natural light, with values that collide rather than blend. Expect red and orange to dominate the surface. The hues are full without tipping into excess. It holds up in daylight and under lamps equally well.

Part of our Thomas Cole collection, a group of 179 works built around one universe. It pairs naturally with The Notch of the White Mountains (Crawford Notch) and The Fountain of Vaucluse if you want more than one piece.

Printed or painted, the choice is yours. Pigment inks on synthetic canvas for the print. Oil on cotton canvas, applied by hand over several weeks, for the painting. Each finished work is documented in photographs and on video, and sent to you for approval first.

The artwork is landscape-oriented, at 1:1.44 — it settles naturally above a sofa, a bed or a sideboard. 10 formats, from 43 x 30 cm to 216 x 150 cm. Our size numbers always describe the shorter side, whatever the orientation. Rolled canvas ships at every size; stretched and framed finishes are offered up to 100 cm, beyond which the parcel exceeds what carriers accept.
