The series behind the collection

Attack on Titan is a manga written and drawn by Hajime Isayama, serialised in Kodansha’s Bessatsu Shōnen Magazine from September 2009 to April 2021, with an anime adaptation that began in 2013. It follows a humanity confined behind concentric walls and besieged by giant humanoid Titans, and it is remembered as much for its reversals of perspective as for its scale.
