About this artwork

In Battle of the Five Army Erebor battlefield, the composition sits comfortably between light and dark, with readable but never harsh modelling. red and orange carry most of the surface. The palette is rich but never garish. It is forgiving about wall colour, which is not true of every piece in the catalogue.

The piece sits in our Lord of the Rings collection, a set of 470 works on the same theme. It hangs comfortably beside Uruk Hai against Gondor soldiers and Hobbit Hole 3.

Choose between a fine art print and a hand-painted oil. The print uses pigment inks on synthetic canvas; the painting is executed in oil on cotton canvas by a senior artist and takes several weeks. Before anything is dispatched you receive photographs and a video of the finished work.
