About this artwork

In Gollum holding the Ring in Gollum's cave, the composition keeps its light to a minimum, with measured contrast. cyan and sky blue carry most of the surface. Colour carries weight while staying plausible. In a dim room it becomes an atmosphere rather than a picture, which may be exactly the point.

This piece exists in two forms. Printed, it is pigment ink on synthetic canvas — accurate, stable, and faithful to the original texture. Painted, it is oil on cotton canvas, worked by hand, and unique by definition. We photograph and film every finished piece and send it to you before shipping.

At 1:1.88 it is emphatically upright — a shape made for double-height walls and stairwells. 10 formats, from 30 x 56 cm to 150 x 281 cm. Our size numbers always describe the shorter side, whatever the orientation. Every size can be sent rolled. Stretching and framing are available to 90 cm — past that the volumetric weight goes beyond what any carrier will take.

The entry price is $129 for the smallest print. Tracked express delivery is included wherever you are, and you have 15 days to change your mind.
