Ciri Draws Her Sword in Green Magic Flames — Print & Oil Painting

She is off the ground. Both feet are clear of the rubble, the body has turned into the swing, and the sword crosses the frame on a long diagonal from lower left to upper right with both hands committed to it. Nothing in the picture is resting on anything.

The fire does the lighting. Green flame boils up from below and behind her and throws acid light onto the underside of the jaw, the inside of the arms and the tops of the boots, while the village behind stays in cold blue. That green is the colour the games attach to her power, used here as a practical light source rather than as decoration.

The costume is the familiar one and it has been drawn with care: a loose cream shirt gathered at the cuffs, a tan leather corset over it, a wide studded belt hung with pouches, dark brown breeches and thigh boots laced up the front. Black gloves, and a dark mark across the left side of the face.

Behind her the town is half wrecked. A timbered gable at the left, a broken wall, beams down in the foreground, and one small orange lantern burning at the right as the single warm note in a canvas otherwise split between green and blue.
