About this artwork

Look at Black Templar Space Marine portrait 4 and the first thing you notice is that it is lit from within, with values that collide rather than blend. cyan and orange do most of the work. Colour serves the drawing here rather than competing with it. Bright work like this is best kept out of direct sunlight to protect the pigments.
