Boba Fett Kneels Beneath Twin Suns on a Cliff — Print & Oil Painting

A landscape with a figure in it, and the landscape gets three quarters of the attention. Salmon and rust cloud banks fill the upper half, two suns hang in them at different heights, the higher one small and pale, the lower one large and blood orange as it touches a ridge of eroded spires.

The canyon below is drawn with real geology: flat-topped mesas, a rubble slope, thin rock towers throwing long shadows, and a low haze of dust sitting in the middle distance. A small fire burns unattended at the right, and there is wreckage half buried on the left with the bleached ribs of something large lying beside it.

The figure kneels on the rock shelf at the front, weight on one knee, a heavy rifle held level across the body in both gloved hands. He wears layered tan and grey armour with a pale kama at the hip, a jetpack whose central rocket points up over his shoulder, and a helmet in weathered green and cream with the rangefinder standing at the temple. Braided cords hang beside the visor.

The light does something worth noticing. Everything faces the lower sun, so the front of the armour glows warm and the whole back of the figure is left in a cold violet shadow, which is what stops the piece from turning into a postcard.
