The Grand Inquisitor Ignites His Spinning Blade — Print & Oil Painting

The Grand Inquisitor is mid-lunge, both arms flung forward, and the artist has caught him at the exact frame where a Force push leaves the hands. The fingers are splayed and slightly blurred; the shoulders have already rotated past the hips. It is a drawing about torque.

He is Pau'an, and the design leans hard on that: the elongated skull, the drawn grey skin over bone, the ridged cheeks, and those two red tattoos running from hairline to jaw like the tracks of something that ran down his face. The eyes are the giveaway — yellow, ringed in crimson, sitting in sockets far too deep for comfort. Where a Sith Lord would be theatrical, he is clinical.

Behind his shoulder the double-bladed hilt hangs on its circular guard, and one red blade cuts a diagonal straight across the top third of the canvas. That line does a lot of structural work: it stops the composition from being a simple centred portrait and drags the eye from the top-left corner down into the hands.
