About this artwork

The same character as the painted study, but drawn in the language of the animated series: flat planes, hard edges, no rendered texture anywhere. It is a harder, colder read, and it suits him.

The composition is a wedge. The Inquisitor fills the right side of the frame, chin down and eyes up, while three stormtroopers recede diagonally into the left in progressively deeper shadow — the first crisp, the second dimmer, the third almost lost. It states the hierarchy without a word: he is the point of the spear and they are the shaft.

Colour is used with real discipline. The entire image is grey, black and bone-white apart from three red events: the tattoos on his face, a single crimson rectangle on his chest plate, and the blade angled up from the bottom-left corner. Those three marks are spaced almost evenly down the canvas, which pulls the eye through the whole height of the picture.

His expression is the best part — not rage but contempt, the upper lip pulled back off the teeth. From our Star Wars collection, alongside the painted version of the same figure in full motion.
