Darth Revan and a Companion Flanked by Guards — Print & Oil Painting

A processional picture, staged like a stage. The back wall has been opened and light is pouring through it, so the two central figures walk toward us out of a white rectangle with everything behind them reduced to flat grey silhouettes. Three or four more shapes stand in that glare without a single detail between them.

Two ranks of soldiers line the way, four on the left and three on the right, close enough to the camera that they are cropped at the frame edges. They wear dark segmented armour with plain visored helmets, and they carry rifles held across the body and one long-hafted weapon. They are painted almost entirely in silhouette too, catching a thin cold rim along the shoulders and the barrels.

Revan is on the right, hood up, mask catching the backlight along its lower edge, a heavy dark cloak swinging out behind him. His blade is lit and held low and back in the right hand, close to the leg. Beside him on the left walks a taller figure in a smooth pale helmet with no features at all, a burnt orange tunic, a long dark cape, and a second red blade carried the same way, low and trailing.

Neither of them is fighting and neither is hurrying. Both blades are lit but pointed at the floor, which is a specific and slightly unpleasant kind of confidence: the weapons are on because there is no reason to turn them off, not because anything is about to happen.

Measured brightness sits near a fifth, and the two red blades are effectively the only colour in a canvas of black armour, grey deck and white glare. From our Star Wars collection, next to the same figure seated beneath a looming shade and the standing portrait before his order's emblem.
