Darth Talon Channels Lightning Beside Her Crimson Blade — Print & Oil Painting

Two kinds of light are running at once and they refuse to agree. A hard crimson blade leaves the hand at her hip and exits through the upper left corner; from the raised hand on the opposite side, blue-white current forks off the fingertips and dies in the haze behind her shoulder. She stands between them and is lit by both.

The skin is scarlet and the markings are what make the figure. Black tattoo work runs in hooks, spirals and thorns across the brow, down the cheeks, over the ribs and along the full length of both head-tails, heaviest where the pattern follows a muscle. One of those tails falls forward over the shoulder and curls back on itself at the waist.

Her eyes are yellow with a black rim and they are aimed slightly to our left rather than at us. The rest of the face is entirely still. Nothing she is doing with that hand has reached her expression.

The equipment is minimal and hard: a segmented metal chest piece, a bracer running from wrist to elbow, a black glove on the raised hand, a plain strap low across the hips. Behind her a ruined city recedes in blue-grey planes, and a few orange fires burn low among the rubble at the right.

She comes from the comics rather than the films, a Sith of an order that took the galaxy more than a century after the last of the screen stories close, which is a period the films have never visited.
