Darth Vader Anime style — Print & Oil Painting

A stylised graphic illustration rather than a painting, and it commits to that language completely. Every highlight is a hard-edged shape with no blending inside it, the blacks are flat, and the whole helmet is described by the pattern of light sliding over it instead of by any drawn contour.

The head fills the upper two thirds of a tall frame, seen straight on and very slightly from below. Long white specular streaks run down the dome and around the cheek panels, the brow ridge catches a single bright bar, and the triangular mouth grille is drawn with every one of its horizontal vents in place.

The eye lenses are the one departure from the source. Instead of flat black they burn a low amber, lit from within, which turns a mask into a face and is the only piece of characterisation the image allows itself.

Below, the shoulder mantle and cape fall in sharp folds picked out with the same white edges, and the chest plate sits in near darkness with just enough reflection to place it. A warm gold glow rims the shoulders from behind, separating black from black.
