The Emperor's Royal Guard TIE Interceptor at Sunset — Print & Oil Painting

Two aircraft in formation against a burning sky, painted with the calm of an aviation study rather than the urgency of a battle piece. Nothing here is firing.

The interceptor holds the right half. Its wing panels are the pointed, cut-away kind, angled sharply forward, and the whole frame around them has been finished in deep crimson while the panels themselves stay near black. The ball cockpit sits at the centre with its window frame picked out in silver, and the artist has drawn every strut and brace of the wing pylons cleanly enough to count.

To its left runs a much larger pale ship, cream and grey, with a long forward hull and broad wings angled steeply down. It is closer to the sun and takes the light full on, so its upper surfaces bleach almost to white while the interceptor beside it stays dark. Two more red craft follow far back at the upper left, small, with their engines glowing.

The sky does the heavy lifting: banked cloud running from gold at the centre through amber to a dull violet at the edges, with the sun buried directly behind the pale ship so that it throws a hard flare out around the hull. Below, the cloud floor drops away into haze.

The crimson finish is the point of the picture. That colour marked the craft flown for the Emperor's own guard, which is why a fighter painted like a robe reads as escort duty rather than as a patrol.
