Finn versus Kylo Ren — Print & Oil Painting

A poster rather than a painting, and it commits to that completely. Everything is drawn: the trees are ruled vertical strokes, the snow is a scatter of hard dots, the roots in the foreground are outlined in clean tapering line, and there is no soft edge anywhere on the sheet.

It is also almost entirely one colour. The measured saturation runs to nearly nine-tenths, the highest in this group by a clear margin, and every part of it is blue: midnight blue in the trunks at the edges, teal in the middle distance, and a pale cold cyan burning up the centre where the forest opens into a shaft of light.

Two figures face each other across that shaft, both small, both low in the frame, and both given roughly equal weight. On the left a man stands braced with his feet apart, a blue blade held upright in both hands close to the body, jacket open, the whole figure read as a dark shape with a lit edge. On the right a hooded figure leans in with a red blade angled across the chest, its two short side vents throwing stubby flares out from the hilt, and a torn cloak dragging behind.

The reds are the only warm marks on the sheet and the artist has kept them small, so the eye goes cold light, cold light, then finds the single hot object last.

The staging is honest about the mismatch. One of these two has trained for this his whole life and the other is holding the weapon for the second time, and the picture puts them at the same size on opposite sides of an empty middle, which is what makes it look like a question rather than a result.
