General Grievous Igniting All Four Lightsabers — Print & Oil Painting

Rendered as though photographed on a stage. Real depth of field, a soft bloom around every light source, volumetric haze standing in the air, and hundreds of embers drifting across the frame at various sizes and various degrees of focus. It is the most cinematic surface in this group.

He is walking. That is the difference between this and a display piece: the weight is on the front foot, the rear leg trails with the claw still dragging, the torso is pitched forward, and the shoulders have rotated ahead of the hips. Nothing about him is posed.

The four blades split by colour and by height. The upper pair sweeps back and out as two broad bars, green to the left and pale blue to the right, both so overexposed at the core that they lose their edges and read as beams rather than as swords. The lower pair is held forward and down, blue on the left and green on the right, and those two are drawn cleanly enough to see the taper.

The floor is the best passage. Embers lie scattered across the dark deck and each blade lights the ones nearest it, so there are four separate pools of coloured glow on the ground beneath him, green, blue, blue, green, tracking his position as precisely as a shadow would.
