Obi-Wan Kenobi Raises His Saber in a Battle Stance — Print & Oil Painting

A studio portrait of a man mid-form, lifted straight out of a game's character select screen and given the treatment of a bronze. Obi-Wan stands in the classic Soresu opening: blade raised high behind the right shoulder, left arm extended flat and open across the body, weight settled low into a wide stance.

The background has been removed entirely. There is no Geonosis, no Utapau, no clone battalion — only a black field with the faintest blue bloom bleeding out from the sabre. That decision is what makes the piece work as wall art rather than as illustration: without a setting, the figure becomes a study of posture, and the eye has nothing to do but read the balance of the body.

The lighting is entirely from the blade. It picks out the top of the shoulder, the ridge of the cheekbone, the tendons on the back of the extended hand, and the coarse weave of the tunic. Everything on the shadowed side falls to near-black, so the silhouette does as much work as the modelling.
