Red has been pushed about as far as a picture can take it. Fire fills the corners, the mane is scarlet, the smoke is scarlet, and even the shadows have been mixed toward crimson rather than toward black, so the eye has almost nowhere cool to rest. The measured saturation of this canvas is the highest in the whole group, and it feels it.

Chains do the drawing. Heavy links run from a ring at the beast's snout down through the centre of the image and out at the bottom, and a second run crosses to the right, so the picture is laced together by two pale metallic lines that cut across the flames and give the eye a path.

The head they are fastened to is enormous and calm: a grey boar's snout with a broken tusk, one eye closed, one gold eye open, crowned with an elaborate gold band set with red and blue stones. Nothing about it looks like it is losing.

He is up in the air at the right, small by comparison, green tunic flying, sword in one hand and a red spark of magic in the other, mouth open. A handful of blue and white pickups float in the fire around him like a health bar breaking apart.
