Look at Zelda Majora's Mask 2 and the first thing you notice is that it is built almost entirely out of darkness, holding a moderate tonal spread. red and orange do most of the work. Chroma is pushed hard, and the work is louder for it. Because so little of it is lit, it holds its own in a bright room and will not be washed out by a window.
