Link Rides Toward Cloud Visions of Zelda and Ganondorf — Print & Oil Painting

The canvas is split into two registers that do not share the same physics. The lower right is solid: a green meadow of blue and yellow flowers, a river valley behind it, mountains, a heap of grey boulders in the near corner. The upper left is vapour, and three people are standing in it.

He rides out of the right edge on a bay horse with a cream mane, sword held level in his right hand, the blue shield across his back and the green cap streaming. Horse and rider carry more edge than anything else in the painting, which is what stops them drifting off into the weather with the rest.

The vision is stacked. Lowest and largest, Ganondorf, dark-skinned and red-haired in blue and gold plate, arms loose at his sides. Behind his shoulder a slighter figure in blue holds a small golden harp. Above them both, Zelda in a pale rose gown with her hands folded at her chest. All three are half dissolved into cloud, and a small dark structure floats below them like a piece of ground that came away.

The sky finishes it: ribbons of teal aurora across the top right, a long comma of dark birds curling out of the cloud, pink and lavender light spread through the whole upper half.
