Link and Zelda Escape Ancient Ruins Together — Print & Oil Painting

Everything in this picture is falling to the right. Both figures are launched off a green slope on their shields, bodies flat out and hair streaming back, and the ground plane has been tipped so hard that the grass runs off the bottom right corner. There is no stable horizontal anywhere in the frame.

He is on the left, knees bent over a round blue and gold shield, a bow gripped in his left hand and his right arm thrown back toward her. Blue tunic, a white and blue shoulder plate, wrapped forearms, the sword hilt showing behind his head. His face is set and his eyes are on where they are going, not on her.

She is on the right in a white gown already tearing loose in the wind, her hand out toward his but not yet in it. Between the two hands hovers a golden triangle drawn as flat glowing geometry with no shading at all, the one graphic element in an otherwise fully painted image.

Behind them the ruins dissolve into purple and rose smoke. Up in the left corner a great stone head with an orange-marked plate and one round blue eye is still watching, and a small blue light streaks past his shoulder. From our Zelda collection.
