Ahsoka Tano Crosses Blades as Vader's Shadow Looms — Print & Oil Painting

One vertical canvas holding two figures at completely different weights. Ahsoka is at the bottom, low and small, down on one knee with both arms flung out level and a hilt in each fist. Vader occupies everything above her, enormous, semi-transparent, painted in reds and black so that the wall pattern shows straight through his cape and helmet.

Out of her chest comes a burst of white light with long ragged tendrils whipping outward across the entire frame, drawn as loose calligraphic strokes rather than as rendered glow. They cross in front of the looming figure and break him up, which is the argument of the picture: the small solid thing is interrupting the large transparent one.

Straight down the centre line runs a single red blade, from his position at the top to just above her head. It is the only element that belongs to both halves of the image, and the artist has aimed it exactly at her.

Her face is the sharpest passage on the canvas, brows down, eyes level, the markings and the forehead diamond drawn crisply, while his mask is deliberately left as a flat red-black shape with no highlight in it at all.

The background is a deep violet field ruled with hard angular patterns, more heraldic than architectural, which keeps the whole thing symbolic rather than located. Part of our Star Wars collection, beside the blades lit as he looms behind and the fiery shadow version of the same pairing.
