Ahsoka Tano Holds Her Sabers Beneath a Starry Sky — Print & Oil Painting

A tall, cold, upright canvas built almost entirely out of silhouette. Ahsoka stands frontal and central in a heavy hood, and the hood has been tailored to her, cut with two peaks so the montrals stand up inside it, which turns the top of the figure into a shape no human outline could produce.

The face beneath is barely lit. Just enough falls on it to find the brow markings and the line of the mouth; the eyes stay in shadow. Both head-tails come forward over the chest in grey and charcoal banding.

Her arms hang down and slightly out, one saber in each hand, and both blades are white. They run from the hilts to the bottom corners of the frame in a wide shallow V, and because they are the only light source they lift a low bank of ground mist from underneath and leave everything above the waist in the dark.

The background is a deep blue night with stars scattered thinly across it and a few pale vertical streaks behind her shoulders. There is no landscape at all: no horizon, no structure, nothing to say where this is.

Blades down and lit is a specific piece of body language: not a guard, not an attack, but a weapon carried openly by someone who is not hiding that she has it. From our Star Wars collection, next to the close study of the same white blades and the pair raised in mist.
