Ahsoka Tano blue lightsabers — Print & Oil Painting

We are standing behind her and the painting keeps it that way. No part of the face is offered at any angle, and the whole likeness has to be carried by the back of a head: two horns rising and splitting the frame, a central tail falling between the shoulder blades, all three banded in blue and white chevrons that narrow toward the tips.

Both blades are lit and held out wide, angled down and away so that each one leaves the picture at its own edge. They are blue at the core and pale at the sheath, and their light lands on the backs of her gauntlets, the outer edge of each arm and nothing else.

The drawing is animated rather than painted: clean unbroken contours, flat areas of orange skin, a grey and maroon tunic with a red sash wrapped at the waist, ribbed cuffs on both forearms. There is no texture anywhere on the figure.

Everything behind her is lens work. Soft discs of light float across the upper right, a flare cuts down from the top corner, pale streaks run in from both sides and a fine scatter of stars sits in the dark blue between them. The room, if there is one, has been dissolved.

Those blades were not always this colour. Her old pair were taken from her when she left the Order, and Anakin Skywalker gave them back repaired and running blue on the eve of the last campaign of the war, which makes blue the colour of a return rather than a rank.
