Darth Revan Ignites His Blade in a Star Corridor — Print & Oil Painting

An unusually warm painting for this subject. The entire interior is bathed in amber and rust (arched ribs overhead, plated walls, a hot light source burning off to the right), and the figure is lit almost entirely by reflected orange rather than by his own weapon.

That warmth is what makes the armour worth looking at. The chest is a layered arrangement of overlapping plates with visible fastenings and a raised central section; broad straps cross the torso; a heavy belt sits low with a square buckle plate; the forearms are cased in long ribbed vambraces. Every one of those surfaces takes the ambient light differently, and the artist has enjoyed the difference.

The hood is up, and the mask beneath it reads pewter-grey with the eye slit pooled in shadow. It sits deep enough inside the cowl that the head loses its outline against the darkness of the hood itself.

The blade is doing very little. It runs from a hilt at his right hip up and out through the right edge as a single thin red line, thinner and dimmer than most paintings of this character allow, and it is not raised, aimed or crossed with anything. The picture has decided this is a man walking rather than a man fighting.
