Obi-Wan Kenobi's Journey Spans Youth to Old Age — Print & Oil Painting

A composite poster in the great tradition of Star Wars key art — the kind of painted montage that used to be airbrushed onto a cinema hoarding. Four versions of Obi-Wan share the canvas: the young hooded Jedi top right, the aged hermit at left with his sabre raised, the kneeling Padawan in the centre, and Vader looming bottom right as the thing all of it leads to.

The composition is held together by a single blue diagonal. One blade sweeps from the middle of the canvas out to the top-right corner, and a second flares below it, and between them they lock the four figures into one design instead of four vignettes. Without those two strokes the montage would fall apart.

Everything is painted in the warm register of the original film posters: burnt orange, amber, sepia shadow. A Republic gunship banks through fire in the upper left; C-3PO and R2-D2 stand small at the lower left, gold against rust. Only the blades and Vader's black helmet break the warmth.
