Ahsoka Tano Walks Past a Wrecked Star Destroyer — Print & Oil Painting

A wide canvas divided into three horizontal bands: dark ground along the bottom, a long roll of black smoke across the middle, and a burning sunset sky above it. The figure occupies the left quarter and the wreck the right, and the smoke runs between them like a sentence connecting the two.

She is painted in profile, facing right, from the hip up. A heavy brown-olive cloak hangs from the shoulders with the hood pushed back, and her montrals and head-tails fall clear of it, striped white and slate. Her head is lowered and the eyes are cast down. She is not looking at the wreck, at us, or at anything ahead of her.

The blade is lit and held low in the right hand, running down and out of the bottom left corner, and it is green. That was the colour she carried as a padawan, and on a canvas made almost entirely of orange, black and smoke it stands as the one cold note in the frame, a narrow chilled line right at the edge of a warm picture.

On the right, the hull lies on the horizon at an angle, its wedge broken by the silhouette of the command tower, black against the last of the sun. It is not smoking and it is not burning. It has clearly been there a long time, and the artist has painted it as terrain rather than as an event.
